When I look at job postings in my country (not US), there are very few that make any mention of AI or LLMs. There are some but its around 5%. There are definitely fewer junior/graduate jobs than 4 years ago but intermediate/senior are very strong.
I think looking at the tech job stats and job postings in your country is a better indicator than reading this subreddit.
Of course this doesn't mean that AI isn't being used in these jobs, its just that it doesn't seem anywhere close to the doom and gloom this subreddit makes it seem.
Found [this](https://fred.stlouisfed.org/series/IHLIDXUSTPSOFTDEVEone) for the US which shows a big decline in software jobs that started WELL BEFORE the launch of chatgpt 3.5.
I don't think anyone should expect things to go back to how they were in 2021 but I think that AI companies are trying their best to make people nervous about AI so as many people jump on the bandwagon as possible. It's almost like we can't trust them!
This is my random 2 cents as a stranger on the internet but I think over the next few years we'll see relatively diminishing returns on AI improvement. I think demand will raise a little because developers can create \*some\* things faster but that will be about it unless AI gets drastically better.
And yeah I think this subreddit has so many bots running around on it that it's a joke. It's sadly very easy in this day and age to make bots that run around spreading whatever message you want. If people want to be taken seriously then I think they need to provide proof of what they say (such as actual stats).
