The funniest (and saddest) part of all of this to me is watching how many people are making a mass migration over to anthropic, particularly because recent events have made them look like the paragon of ethics. meanwhile none of those people seem to be aware that they're very closely partnered with palantir aka "the reason for most of the things you hate about the world right now" People will happily abandon an ai company in the name of ethics and morality, but the moment you point out that the most moral thing to do is give *none* of these guys your money and support, it's suddenly a case of "oh, but if they're *all* bad, you just have to pick the least bad one. It's not like I could live without my toys, obviously. Every ai company is allowed *some* technocratic panoptical oligopoly. Just like, don't make it obvious"
