Most people are in college because so many jobs require a piece of paper that says you went to college. This was true before AI, and it will be true when schools inevitably bring back handwritten, in person essays. Doesn't make it right or wrong, but pretending that most people in college are there because they're super passionate about learning is disconnected from reality.
