I don't think there's any hopium to be had. I see a lot of newer generation kids being more open minded and empathic towards each other but thats it. Intelligence plummets hard, kids don't know how computers work because they made everything extremely accesible to get as many eyes on the screens without any effort being put on it. Overmedication keeps big farma up, a lot of kids are overdiagnosed and are constantly drugged with at least 4 different pills. Economy being in the gutter makes both parents work an insane amount of hours to keep afloat, and the lack of education keeps people away from better salaries, so, even more hours need to be put in. Kids are unsupervised, so the tablets and phones are the sedative to keep them busy. Not to mention unhappy workers, with no home, stressing out over every bill and grocery prices must not be too good for a parent to focus on raising a kid properly. Sex ed is seen as taboo, parents don't discuss it and kids don't care. I have relatives and friends who are having 2-3 kids with multiple women while barely making any money to maintain themselves. Perpetrating poorness (economical and mental) and passing it onwards. AI is accelerating stupidity at a worrysome rate, and the signs of Idiocracy happening RIGHT NOW are all over the place. And I will, definitely blame capitalism and especially corporativism for this. Big companies are just too big, having their hands on so much, and they do not care if their products are good or needed for society, they just want to make money. This is destroying the world at a fast pace and making people unhealthy and dumb.
