Honestly sounds like a super healthy working environment and strong colleague relationships. He built or used a generally well regarded system to implement and test the merge, and double checked it with an AI tool. He likely did several checks. She had a feeling the process needed additional checks- rather than asserting his authority or correctness or competence of his trusted tools and processes, he stepped back and accepted that check.
