It's not that it's shit, it's that it is overvalued. The bulk of the wealth in the stock market is in like 7 companies that are heavily invested in AI. Nvidia has a higher valuation than there are us dollars in circulation. So these AI companies are saying "give us money and AI will replace employees for pennies on the dollar, then in a few years it will cure cancer, and a few years after that it will figure out how to make a stable fusion reaction" and investors believed them. When they start falling short on those promises after making these huge investments, all that value will disappear into nothing, and our government is too weak to do anything about it right now. The .com and the housing bubble both had functioning governments to ease the fall and protect the banks and whatnot. That's not the case this time. We could see a lot more fall apart than tech stocks.
