People are afraid of it turning into the dotcom so I think investors are being a little cautious even if devs want to go ham.
Working in non-tech, most of my current role could be automated if they allowed a few high powered devs loose on the problem. However, leadership prefers to look tech literate instead of putting in the work. They only recently allowed an LLM for internal use. The lay person still learning to connect the dots correctly.
