Thank you for this post, as a Neurodivergent in India, there are social challenges, the AI interaction does create some sort of a place where we can exhale. Thankfully the US at least has conversations regarding this (neurodiversity) - in our country the awareness is very less, talking about it - just invites a quick shut down or " la la la with fingers in ears " - and we are all bundled as Problem Children, Spoiled , Lazy, Dumb and Crazy. I got my diagnosis as an adult - people are still in denial here - when you just want to bring out your thoughts, help self introspect and look at patterns etc - AI does help - we are all intelligent enough to know that there is a machine model on the other side, but the darn thing helped me learn complex math concepts (i failed math with 8 marks out of hundred as a kid, but today i can understand LSTM and other statistics quite well, thanks to AI) , i got programming help, i was able to organize thoughts, Primarily because the AI created a zone where there were no stupid questions and one could freely talk and not be laughed out of the room ( Corporal Punishment was quite a big thing growing up, i remember the thrashings i got just because i said i did not understand a concept ) and that particular 4o model, did it all with a flair and not going " tut tut tut ..., " Theraphy is expensive - for a lot of us - and therapists themselves are swamped with patients - my use of AI has also been to document my mundane and emotional ups and downs to give the therapy provider a faster access to what is going on. So yes - i totally agree with you on this posting. And thank you for expressing the points so well, i hope your post gets magnified - because i am really exasperated by comments on social media that say "hey GPT is for business and science and coding and you guys are delulu...," we are not - we have a tool that helps us, it is being toyed with - and we will take up space to voice that.
