AI "safety" does nothing but hold back scientific progress, the fact that half of our finest AI researchers are wasting their time on alignment crap instead of working on improving the models is ridiculous. It's really obvious to anyone that "safety" is a complete waste of time, easily broken with prompt hacking or abliteration, and achieves nothing except avoiding dumb fearmongering headlines like this one (except it doesn't even achieve that because we get those anyway).
