At a ln event this year about new technology where I work, AI was a big thing. One of the brand new hires asked about the logic wherein AI is to displace junior hires and that folks need to focus on things that come with being more senior. The answer was basically a rambling nonanswer because firms don't care as it means they can cut costs, give raises to the top of the house and generate shareholder value. In the US there is no thought to a living wage as much as every one of these talks mentions needing to take care of those displaced in passing. It's crazy.
