Theres a common saying in economics, "humans aren't horses," the people saying AI is going to put everyone in x fields out of a job would have been the same people saying computers will put everyone in many fields out of a job 50 years ago. Instead what happened is the number of accountants, programmers, engineers, and people in other fields that were supposed to be replaced by computers skyrocketed because they were so much more productive, and therefore worth hiring, with a computer to augment their skill/knowledge.
