Since the breakthrough of mass produced digital cameras, most movies have been derivative garbage. This is a similar event to the digital camera. Except whereas the digital camera let anyone who could operate a camera “be a director”, generative ai will let anyone who can ask a question “be a director”.
This change will be as harmful to the quality of films as the shift to digital cameras was. The great movies are still being made, but the average movie just keeps getting worse and worse.
