If you ask me, if they can fully replace software engineers with AI, then they're able to replace a whole lot of jobs out there with AI. That's the point you're not just going to see software engineers out of work, but pretty much all knowledge workers and office workers. And the vocational tradespeople will suddenly see a ton of competition spring up due to many displaced workers seeking jobs that can't be fully replaced. This will drive revenue down not just due to competition, but also displaced workers who have no money to get work done. Replacing that many people with AI would crash the economy when those same companies have way less people to sell goods and services to. The AI fearmongers should wake up and stop wondering if their worst fear would make them obsolete as workers, or if it would crash society as a whole. This is why they should not fear. It's not in the interest of the government or the wealthy to see the gravy train die.
