Similarly, emotions that are acceptable for men to show - Anger, Calmness, and the like - are regarded as "less emotional" compared to what is acceptable for women to show - Empathy, Sadness, and so on. Furthermore, the fact that empirical psychology doesn't show anything of relevance here. It studies the Is, something malleable by cultural forces, but not the Ought, the nature, the essence of humans- in whatever it can be conceived of. Thereby, it is expected for women and men to align with normative gender roles because they are the norm. In fact, there are no biological markers that hint at different behavioral traits except for the case of hormonal fluctuations, pertaining to sexual hormone specifically.
