It’s pretty good for a lot of repeatable stuff but falls somewhat flat when it comes to problem solving. I actually don’t get a lot out of it myself other than explaining concepts I need to get my work done because it lacks in depth domain knowledge. What OPs company does must be more repeatable in nature like front end work which ChatGPT excels at more. It could also just be a short sighted decision by OPs leadership, but only time will tell on that one. At the end of the day, this seems like it might be a reality for us in that AI will decrease the need for engineers as it is implemented. Where that actually stops… who knows.
