I think the difference lies heavily in the neural structures of the human brain which are designed to internalize and recreate language. They’re so structurally different from LLMs (obviously) that I don’t think anyone would argue they are the same simply because some of their output appears superficially similar. Noam Chomskys piece in NYTimes a couple of months back laid out the differences very clearly.
