This person gets it. I’m an artist, but I’m a photographer. I have no drawing skill. I’ve wanted to draw for years, but it would take a decade to get to a point where I’m even happy with the output. Midjourney allows me to pull amazing ideas out of my mind and make them real — and it does it better than I ever could. I have a film degree. I can write a script. But it takes a crew of 5-10 to make even the most basic movie. You need lights, sound, camera, makeup, a person watching for inconsistencies, not to mention actors. But soon I’ll be able to ask AI to create a movie for me. In 10 years, *we won’t need Hollywood.* I’ll be able to produce something amazing, all on my own, and release it to Netflix or Amazon, the same way music artists have shifted away from labels and self publish on Spotify. You used to need a million dollars of equipment to make a quality recording, print a master, copy it to records, and distribute them across the country. Now you can do it with a laptop, a good mic, and an internet connection. Do you know how many artists jobs that killed? Sound engineers, producers, etc — but it put control in the hands of the artists, and music has never been better or more diverse.
