I agree with the sentiment that the current programs aren't even close to being a sort of general AI that we envision in future doomsday (or utopian) scenarios. But to claim any form of AI will *always* be limited to human ingenuity and creativity is a rather naive point of view in my opinion.
We like to believe traits like creativity are exclusively human, but that is just wrong. We're not there yet with AI, but there is nothing indicating it would be an impossible goal to reach.
