This is an interesting topic. Many CCTVs have some form of facial recognition inbuilt now. Not always the most advanced software either, some just categorise between male/female/old/young. There’s also the ability to apply facial recognition software after the fact. The success of facial recognition will just depend on quality of the footage and angle of the camera. Difficult to police without routine checkups on each system. Even then, if footage is exported to another service for facial recognition, authorities most likely won’t ever know.
