If I found out one of my employees did this I would laugh and say "well, we pay you to do this, we valued it at X, you found a way to do it and save yourself time, so that is your time." Then I would probably offer to pay them more if they could see what else they could automate and save time on. I pay for results, not for time. You can get it done in 20 and it takes someone else 40? congrats on getting 20 hours back. I hate the concept of "you are an efficient worker, here is more work and no more pay."
