I agree with everything you're saying, but this DOES look like a pointlessly gendered news story if it's an issue that impacts both men and women.
If someone posted a story that said "white people suffering during pandmic lockdown" would it be unreasonable to complain about an unfair emphasis on the suffering of *only white people* when other people are suffering just as much, or more?
