I was the top driver in an Amazon distribution center. They said the routes were computer generated, and that no one gets the same routes... you know, to rotate everyone. I started to work the downtown routes and bombing them.. all the sudden I’m getting the same route everyday. Hmmm. So much for rotation. Then they started to implement the tracking system within your handheld device, which records speed, fast braking, everything. I would never log on to it, claiming it wouldn’t let me in.. some kind of log in problem... after I would complete my deliveries, I would have to “ rescue “ all the slow drivers that couldn’t complete their routes... I would rescue up to two people a day. So not only did I have to drive my route, but go help people who couldn’t even get a neighborhood route done! They worked me to death because they knew I was fast..I quit because I was tired of being the last guy in... and they started implementing new tracking features also, so I can imagine now this is what it’s come too. AI in the trucks... glad I got out when I did...yikes!
