It's on the prosecutor moreso. Police arrest him and handoff to the prosecutor who SHOULD have said "fuck off this isn't the guy". Police likely have too high an expectation of how good facial recognition software is. In a lot of places, high school is all that's required to get into LE. Attorneys at least have a grad degree in most jurisdictions. I'm an elitist. I expect people who've gone through 7+ years of post HS education to be able to figure out credibility of evidence better than someone who's been through 0+ or 2+.
