The EU is not a third-rate soap opera with a dysfunctional couple on a on again-off again relationship. That shit gets tedious fast even on TV. The UK would have absolutely ZERO credibility if they asked to enter again. There were some serious doubts about their candidacy in the first place back in the 60’s, And every doubt fully materialized. We experienced for decades the constant undermining of the european idea by UK. They blocked any attempt to further integration and to the end clang to the sterling pound . They never were really european. I don’t specifically wish them harm and I hope both the UK and the EU can find their own way. But never again should they be allowed back in.
