I've self-published on Kindle. As you might expect, Amazon's automated approval process is the digital equivalent of a blind man firing a machine gun. 9/10, if you ask Amazon for a manual review then, unless your book contains obviously illegal content, Amazon will approve it. Whinging on Twotter might speed up the process if you have enough of a profile.
