It's not a true self driving car. It's level 2 automation, basically it's adaptive cruise control (an old and established technology) with an additional lane keep function (relatively new).
There's very limited smarts. The car can't "drive", it can throttle and steer. It can't make decisions, just follow programming. It can't navigate you on its own, read street signs or even distinguish the color of stop lights.
The driver set the cruise control to 74.
