as I see it and have experience it, I am a vast collection of semi-autonomous systems that have been programmed to achieve various goals and they are all collaborating and competing for the use of a single body. as I type this I might get the urge to get up and go to the bathroom or get something to eat and I kind of feel these options are put up for a vote of sorts and if they cannot achieve enough votes the current goal stays on track.... I can often feel an interval that seems rather patterned when the call for a new vote will arise again. If you stop a bathroom request the interval seems about half an hour for #2 and about 5 min for #1.
