There's going to be a point of no return. Like a tech event horizon. Like many others, I'm betting on AI becoming self-aware.
Afterwards, ridiculous advances virtually indistinguishable from magic. Heaven if we get ourselves a benevolent AI. Hell if it's an AI which doesn't care.
